MAJULI, March 4 - A new United Bank of India (UBI) branch was opened at the district headquarter Garamur on March 1.
Before this, there was only one UBI branch in this island district at Kamalabari, due to which people from faraway places of this district had to cover a lot of distance to reach it which involved considerable waste of money and time.
People of Majuli, after the establishment of this new branch at Garamur, hope that this will fulfill a yearlong dream and now onwards they will be able to access the banking service at low costs than before.
Inaugurating the new UBI bank branch, Dc Pallab Gopal Jha, stated that this will definitely help the people and make the banking services more healthy and systematic in the island.
Chief Regional Manager, PK Samal, said that three more UBI Bank branches will be opened in the district.
