U-9 chess tourney

GUWAHATI, May 23 � Round 5 and 6 were conducted today at Puducherry in the ongoing 28th National U-9 Open & Girls Chess Championship. In round 5, Assam boys had to remain satisfied with two win and a draw with Dhrupad Kashyap winning over Ram Soni of Haryana, Uday Bhaskar Sarmah defeating Ishant Kumar of Jharkhand and Snehasish Sinha played a draw with Manoj B of Puducherry.

In round 6, Assam boys got two win and a draw. Sahil Dey defeated Vignesh N of Tamil Nadu, Nawab Mukril Zadeed won over Jaswanth Simha T of Andhra Pradesh and Dhrupad Kashyap played a draw with Srijeeth Mullick of West Bengal.

After six rounds, Sahil has 4 points, Manthan has 3.5, Dhrupad and Nawab Mukril have 3 points each and Uday Bhaskar Sarmah has 2 points. In the girls category, after round six, Rishita has 4.5 points with her only win of the day over Sanjana Raghunath of Karnataka.
