Two women hacked

BISWANATH CHARIALI, June 3 - Two women, namely Bodheswari Goswami (40) and Bhanti Mallik (42) of No. 2 Dirringpathar village situated under Biswanath Chariali Police Station in Biswanath district were wounded last evening by one Ahmed Ali with a machete. According to information available, a section of women of the said village reached Ahmed�s home when they came to know that he was about to slaughter a cow. The women reportedly asked the person not to kill the cow, following which Ahmed attacked the duo and fled. However, timely arrival of officials of the district and police administration with forces prevented the situation from further deterioration. Ahmed Ali was subsequently arrested while the injured women were admitted to hospital. The situation in the meantime is under control.
