IMPHAL, Nov 28 - Two militants were nabbed along with arms and ammunition during two separate counter-insurgency operations launched by security forces in Manipur, police sources said today. One of the ultras belongs to the United National Liberation Front (UNLF), while the other is a member of Kanglei Yoel Kanna Lup (KYKL), the sources added.
The UNLF cadre was nabbed during a joint operation launched by Imphal East Police commandos and troops of 30 Assam Rifles under the Lamlai PS of Imphal East district.
Police claimed that a .38 pistol with a magazine loaded with five live rounds was recovered from him. The UNLF cadre has been identified as H Ranjit (45).
Meanwhile, the KYKL cadre was nabbed by a Bishnupur Police commandos and troops of 31 Assam Rifles during a search operation under Kumbi PS of Bishnupur district on November 26, the police said. The nabbed was identified as Kh Nanao (32). A 9 mm pistol with a magazine loaded with three live rounds was recovered from him.
