GUWAHATI, June 13 � Two Assam girls � Rakhi Sharma and Mousumi Borah � have been selected to represent the Indian team in the Asian Powerlifting Championship to be held at Hong Kong, but not four as published in a section of the media.
Clarifying it in a press statement, Pijush Kanti Bhowmick, general secretary of the Assam Powerlifting Association said the selected lifters had attended a trial camp at Erode, Tamil Nadu in May and the Indian Powerlifting Federation intimated the State body about the selection of Rakhi and Mousumi.
