UDALGURI, May 31 - The Udalguri district recorded 53.44 in the overall pass percentage with two rank holders to its credit. Subham Pator of Arunoday Akademy, Tangla and Mohan Pradhan of Diamond English school ranked 14th and 20th in the 20 toppers lit respectively.
Mohan Pradhan of Diamond English school, Harisinga secured letter marks in all the six subjects with total marks of 566, the percentage being 94.33. Pradhan, son of Renuka Pradhan hails from the remote border village Amlaiguri under Harisinga police station with a poor economic background. Diamond English School of Harisinga recorded 100 per cent pass percentage which includes 80 in first division (including four distinction and 12 stars marks) and 17 second division holders.
After the announcement of the results, Mohan was brought to the school amid cheers of his schoolmates, teachers and students organisations of Harisinga region. Talking to mediapersons, Mohan said that he wants to pursue higher studies in science and is going to take up admission in the Cotton College.
It is to be noted that Udalguri district recorded 53.44 in overall pass percentage. Among 11,456 candidates, 6,122 cleared the examination with 1,069 in the first division, 2,469 in the second division and 2,584 in the third division.
