NAGAON, Oct 27 - Sensation prevailed at Nagaon Milanpur on Monday night after the mysterious death of a married woman due to a family dispute. Police from Nagaon police station subsequently picked up her husband and the woman�s sister in this regard.
According to sources, a dispute took place between the deceased woman Munmi Das and her husband Haripad Das for an unknown reason on Monday midnight. Amidst the dispute, Munmi locked the door of a room from inside and committed �suicide� by hanging from the ceiling. Sources said that the husband of the woman, Haripad Das immediately broke the lock and admitted her to Nagaon civil hospital after rescuing her. But the doctor on duty declared her brought dead.
When the husband of the deceased woman demanded to release her body as it was just a �normal� death, the police of the civil hospital objected to releasing the body of the woman without postmortem, sources said.
Meanwhile, hundreds of local residents as well as family members of the deceased woman went on a rampage and created ruckus at the hospital premises as well as at her residence at Milanpur area. They claimed that it was a pre-planned murder in cold blood rather than a case of suicide and demanded to provide justice to the woman.
In the meantime, the family of the deceased lodged an FIR against the mysterious death of the woman. Police subsequently registered a case in this regard and picked up her husband and her own sister. They are being interrogated till the filing of this report, sources added.
