Two Nigerians apprehended

SILCHAR, March 15 - Two Nigerian nationals were arrested from a forested area along the Assam-Tripura border in Karimganj district on Saturday.

Karimganj SP Kumar Sanjit Krishna informed that while conducting routine checking at Churaibari area, the Nigerian nationals were arrested from a bus bearing registration No. AS-01, JC-8052 which was enroute to Guwahati from Dharmanagar.

�On seeing police, the two accused persons fled from the spot. However, police instantly conducted search operation in the jungles nearby and subsequently apprehended both the passengers who were identified as Chinedu Nonso(30) of Anamobra state and Kanu Kingsley(28) from Loeat in northern Nigeria.�

�During interrogation, they stated that they came from Nigeria to Bangladesh. Incidentally, Chinedu Nonsa could produce only one consular card issued by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria vide Passport No. A09276844 issued on April 19, 2018.�
