Two new COVID-19 cases in Tripura

AGARTALA, May 22 - Two more COVID-19 positive cases were detected on Thursday in Tripura. Altogether 847 samples were tested for COVID-19 last night, out of which two samples were confirmed as positive.

The new patients include a returnee who had entered the State through the Churaibari Gate. The other patient had been in contact with previous COVID-19 positive persons, who had returned from Chennai.

As many as 23 active patients are now undergoing treatment in the GB Pant Hospital and the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Youth Hostel. Altogether 148 COVID-19 patients have recovered so far.

As many as 5,557 people are under quarantine, out of whom 291 are in facility quarantine and the rest have been home quarantined.

So far, 17,735 samples have been collected for COVID-19 tests, out which 16,873 results are available. A total of 173 positive cases have been found in the State so far.

The recovery rate of COVID-19 patients stands at 85.55 per cent. No fatality has been reported till date.
