Two new COVID-19 cases in Mizoram

AIZAWL, June 6 - The number of active COVID-19 cases in Mizoram rose to 23 after two persons, including a woman, who recently returned from Delhi, tested positive on Friday night.

�Of 302 samples tested yesterday, two came out positive,� an official said.

The official said the two new patients are from Aizawl district, and they were asymptomatic and had been under institutional quarantine. They have been admitted to the Zoram Medical College.

As COVID-19 cases continue to rise, Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga took to Twitter to urge everyone to �stay safe, take all preventive precautionary measures and abide by the rules and regulatory procedures laid down by the State�s administration, health officials and various COVID-19 related task forces�.

One COVID-19 patient has recovered in Mizoram so far.
