Two more test positive in Mizoram

AIZAWL, June 26 - With two fresh cases reported today, Mizoram�s COVID-19 tally has risen to 147, while 38 recovered patients have been discharged from hospital so far.

Out of 1,113 samples tested on Thursday at the Zoram Medical College lab, test results of a three-year-old girl and a 23-year-old woman came out positive and 1,052 samples tested negative. Results of the remaining 59 samples are awaited, an official source said.

Both the newly confirmed cases are returnees from Maharashtra. They are asymptomatic and were under institutional quarantine.

All 27 samples tested at the Lunglei district civil hospital�s TrueNat lab on Thursday have been found negative, the source added.

Meanwhile, eight cured patients, including six males and two females, were discharged from hospital in Lawngtlai district this morning, making it a COVID-free district. Hnahthial district has not reported a single case so far.

At present, Mizoram has 109 active cases.
