NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Aug 31 - Two persons were arrested in Ghilamora for allegedly trying to bribe the police. The incident occurred on Thursday when two persons, namely, Aza Doley and Neelakanta Mili visited the Ghilamora Police Station to bring back a tractor loaded with shimoloo tree logs.
The logs were confiscated by the police along with the vehicle earlier as there is a ban on felling of shimaloo trees. The two accused persons came to the police station to recover the logs with the vehicle by bribing the Officer-in-Charge Ajeet Kumar Bhuyan.
On finding their motive, OC Bhuyan immediately arrested them and registered a case under PC Act 12 and sent them to the North Lakhimpur jail.
