NAGAON, Oct 9 - Haiborgaon police on Tuesday with the help of Haryana Police rescued two missing girls from a gang of human traffickers in Haryana and also arrested the two prime accused in the case, a man and his stepson from the spot when they were about to sell those two girls to a gang. It may be mentioned that the girls had gone missing from Katimari Grant under Haiborgaon Police Outpost, a couple of months ago.

According to sources, the arrested men have been identified as father and his stepson, Rafik Khan alias Rajesh Kumar and Nurul Amin respectively. Nurul Amin used to stay as a tenant with his mother at the rented house of one Ainul Haque at Katimari Grant under Haiborgaon outpost. Nurul fell in love with Ainuls cousin and in the middle of August last, Nurul along with Ainuls daughter and his cousin went missing.

Ainul Haque on August 23 last lodged an FIR at Haiborgaon Outpost and the police registered a case in this regard. Following investigation in the entire case, Haiborgaon Police rushed to Haryana and were able to rescue both the girls from another rented house where Nuruls father Rafik Khan lived when the alleged traffickers were bargaining to sell them to another gang of traffickers there. Sources said that Rafik Khan had come to Nagaon a couple of decades ago and married a widow who had her one-year-old child Nurul with her. After about a decade, Rafik Khan left both the mother and son here at Nagaon and since then, both lived at Katimari Grant as a tenant.

On the other hand, in an interaction with some local media persons here the victims said that they were promised to employment in Haryana. But when they reached there, the father and his stepson bargained to sell them to a larger gang of human traffickers.

Interestingly, talking to this correspondent the IO of the case said that it may not exactly be a case of human trafficking, but there may be a complicated love affair angle to it and further investigation would bring out the exact fact.
