Two from Barpeta district in top 10 list

BARPETA, June 6 - Two students from Barpeta district made it to the top 10 list in the HSLC examination, the results of which was declared on Saturday.

Harsh Vardhan Maheswari, a student of Marian High School at Barpetaroad in Barpeta district, secured 588 marks with letters in all the subjects and got the 6th position. He also scored highest marks in General Mathematics, and Social Sciences with 100 in both the subjects.

On the other hand, Puja Banerjee, a student of Sankardev Shishu Niketan - Bahari in Barpeta district, got the 10th position securing 584 marks with letters in all the subjects. Daughter of a priest, Puja likes to play violin and aims at becoming a responsible citizen in the future.

Out of 21,687 students who appeared for the HSLC examination conducted by Board of Secondary Education Assam this year from Barpeta district, 15368 became successful. The pass percentage of the district is 70.86 per cent. While, 3,260 secured 1st division, 5,723 and 6,385 students passed in 2nd and 3rd division, respectively.
