Two-day e-concert for flood relief

GUWAHATI, July 17 - In a bid to raise funds for the flood victims in Assam, a group of young artistes, digital media startup The News Mill, and voluntary organisation People for People have joined hands to hold an e-concert titled �Gitor Xorai Plabitor Babe�.

Ten artistes will perform in the e-concert which will be streamed live on the Facebook pages �The Voice of North East India� and �The News Mill� from 6 pm to 8.30 pm on July 18 and 19.

�Assam is ravaged by floods every year, a natural calamity that has been at its severest this year. In this time of crisis, we, the members of the artistes� community, have joined hands with People for People and The News Mill, with an aim to fulfil the true purpose of our art and music by reaching out to the remotest corners of the State and helping our people when they need it the most,� said Arghadeep Baruah, the vocalist of Bottle Rockets India, one of the participating bands.

The other artistes in the line-up are Nilotpal Bora, Shankuraj Konwar, Bidyut Jyoti Mohan, Johnny Marak, Jutimala Buragohain, Aslam Khan, Moniraj Hazarika, Gaurav Maama Saikia and Farhad Hussain. People for People has already run a campaign through Milaap to garner funds for distribution among the affected people.
