Two children escape from captivity

IMPHAL, July 22 (PTI): Two children who had been kidnapped by suspected militants on July 19 from a village in Imphal East district of Manipur, escaped from captivity, police and family sources said today.

Sources said L Nganba (12) and Ng Kuber (10) freed themselves yesterday while their captors were not around, police said.

Later, Nganba and Kuber told local media last evening that they had been forcibly taken by three armed men after gagging them with smelling clothes. They said they soon lost consciousness and found themselves asleep in a bed at Khurai area. When woke up no one was in the room, they said adding that they ran and rang up their family members.
