GUWAHATI, March 20 - Two Assam players including forward Vinit Rai and defender Gaurav Bora have been included in the India U-23 squad for the AFC U-23 Championship Qualifiers to be held at Tashkent, Uzbekistan from March 22.
India will aim for a maiden appearance in the final round of the competition when they begin their campaign at the continental football tournament.
India will play the opening match against Tajikistan on March 22 while in the second match they will face Uzbekistan on March 24. In the last group match, India is scheduled to play against Pakistan on March 26.
Vinit plays for Delhi Dynamos in the Indian Super League while Gaurav was a member of the Chennai City FC side which recently clinched the I-League title.
