GUWAHATI, May 24 � Two persons were murdered in the city in the last 24 hours in two separate incidents, while, a Home Guard personnel committed suicide in the campus of the Guwahati Doordarshan centre.
Police sources said that one Indrajit Choudhury, aged around 27 years, was found murdered in his rented house in Gandhibasti second bye lane this morning. Choudhury was a worker of a shop in Fancy Bazar and police said that sometimes he used to bring home the money collected in the shop during the day.
Sources said that the body had injury marks on the head and his room mate is missing. Police is on the look out for the room mate of Choudhury, sources said.
Sources said that in another incident, one Nabin Narzary of Jorabat area of the city received serious injuries when he was attacked with sharp weapons by unknown miscreants last night. Narzary breathed his last in the Gauhati Medical College Hospital today.
Meanwhile, Ranjan Gohain, a Home Guard personnel, today committed suicide in the Guwahati DD Campus by hanging himself from the ceiling. Police recovered a suicide note from the room where the incident took place.
