TV scribe behind July 9 case: Akhil

GUWAHATI, July 14 � Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) general secretary Akhil Gogoi today alleged that a male journalist working with a city-based TV channel had masterminded the July 9 GS Road incident of molestation of a girl, who was returning home from a bar after attending a birthday party.

According to the video footage shown by KMSS general secretary at a press conference here this afternoon, the girl herself told the journalist of the TV channel that it was at the instance of him she was molested.

When asked as to whether the video footage he had shown at the press conference were handed over to the police or not, Akhil Gogoi said that he had handed over one copy of the footage to the DGP of the State, but he would submit the raw copy of the footage only when the DGP asks for it.

He also told newspersons that he was not handing over the raw copy of the footage to the Forensic Science Laboratory himself, nor to the Electronic Media Forum, Assam (EMFA), which demanded production of evidence against the said journalist within 4 pm today or apology from Gogoi.
