Tura molestation case: Co-accused denies charges

By Correspondent

TURA, June 16 - Calling the allegations against himself and former chairman of ANVC (B), Bernard Marak, as baseless, Wilver D Marak, co-accused in the three FIRs accusing them of molesting three women here, counter-alleged that family members of the NGOs were at loggerheads in an attempt to stop their business.

GLR pharmaceutical firm is run by Bernard Marak and I am looking after the business. The allegation that Bernard Marak and myself attacked their houses is just to divert the case which Bernard had filed against the NGOs for torching his residence cum resort at Edenbari, claimed Wilver.

He added that the NGOs had attacked GLR earlier on May 1, 2018 with the motive to close down the business. I am one of the witnesses against them but till date they could not close it down and the case is pending in the High Court, he added.

Wilver claimed that the NGOs feared Bernard as he was standing against the eviction of Rongkachiring residents. They want to send Bernard behind the bars just to evict the people of Rongkachiring and close down GLR pharmaceuticals. Its a big conspiracy. I trust the district administration and police to investigate the case, said Wilver, who is a former GSU member who was arrested under MPDA on the MBoSE issue in 2005.

I came to know about them filing a molestation case against me through the papers and it is baseless. I am filing a defamation case against them. I respect every woman and want to ask them not to misuse their power, he added through a press communiqu.
