Tuli paper mill workers face starvation

DIBRUGARH, Aug 21 � The Workers� Union of the Nagaland Pulp & Paper Company Limited (NPPC), located at Tuli in Nagaland have alleged that starvation stares in their face, as they have not been paid their salaries since May this year.

NPPC is a joint venture of the Government of India undertaking Hindustan Paper Corporation and the Nagaland Government. HPC runs the administration of NPPC.

In a statement issued by the NPPC Workers� Union today, it alleged that the workers and employees of the factory have not been paid their salaries since May this year, pushing the staff into trying times. �We are on the verge of starvation deaths, even as we are unable to take care of our daily expenses, children�s education expenditure, etc�, said the president of the union.
