GUWAHATI, April 21 � The Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) has announced the new age eligibility for the players.
In an important circular issued by TTFI secretary Dhanraj Choudhury the fresh guidelines were issued in order to match the age eligibility in line with International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF).
As per the revised guidelines, the players participating in the youth boys and girls will have to be born on or after January 1, 1992. For junior boys and girls, they will have to be born on or after January 1, 1996. For sub junior boys and girls they will have to be born or after January 1, 1999. Finally, for cadet boys and girls, the players will have to be born on or after January 1, 2001.
This was stated in a press release issued by Tridib Duvarah, secretary, Assam Table Tennis Association. He further informed that the above age criteria will be strictly followed while conducting the various tournaments within the State. This age eligibility criteria will be effective from April 1.
