JORABAT, Sept 12 - A truck (AS 02 AC 9370) carrying empty cases of cold drinks from Nagaon to Guwahati, skidded off the National Highway 37 and rolled about 100 feet down a slope in the evening hours here today.
Traffic personnel from Sonapur had a hard time controlling the traffic as passers-by milled around at the site of the accident.
The injured truck driver was later sent for treatment. A house down the slope was left undamaged as the truck stopped a few metres from the house. Meanwhile, local residents and traffic personnel have stressed the need to build concrete barriers along the highway here to check such accidents.
