Tripura will become a gateway to NE: Sarkar

By Correspondent

AGARTALA, June 5 - Asserting that the State has been able to create an investment friendly climate, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Saturday said days are not far when Tripura would become a gateway to the entire Northeastern region.

Once Feni bridge is constructed, the State will be able to access Chittagong port in Bangladesh. This will obviously open up a new opportunity to explore markets of South Asian Nations too, he said while speaking at a Business Meet hosted by ASSOCHAM at Prajna Bhavan here.

Praising ASSOCHAM for holding such a meet here, the Chief Minister said Tripura may be a small State but the size is not always that important.

Recalling the touching comment of then President APJ Abdul Kalam during his last visit to the State, Sarkar said, He exhorted me not to consider the State as small and tiny. Small thing can make a big difference.

The government will render all possible help if any investor or entrepreneur comes forward to set up industrial unit here, he said.
