AGARTALA, Aug 19 - Three more persons succumbed to COVID-19 infection during the past 24 hours in Tripura. With the latest casualties, the death toll in the State has reached 65.
Currently, Tripura has 2,081 active COVID-19 cases, while 93 patients were released from COVID Care Centres during the past 24 hours. Altogether 441 positive cases were confirmed in the State during the past 48 hours.
A medical bulletin issued here today stated that 3,629 persons have been quarantined, out of whom 221 are under facility quarantine and the rest are under home quarantine.
Tripura�s positivity rate stands at 3.30 per cent, while the recovery rate is around 74 per cent. The fatality rate stands at 0.86 per cent.
Meanwhile, the Law Department housed at the Civil Secretariat here has been sealed after some positive cases were reported on Tuesday. Some officials of the Health Department were also quarantined due to COVID-19 infection inside the office.
It has been observed that COVID-19 patients who are afflicted with other diseases like cancer, diabetes, heart ailment and kidney disorder, have become more vulnerable.
�To strengthen the fight against COVID-19, 185 oxygen concentrators have been distributed in the Dedicated COVID Treatment Centre at the GB Pant Hospital and the other Covid Care Centres. This will ensure better management of critical patients,� said a senior Health Department official here today.
Besides, 824 pulse oximeters have been reserved for COVID-19 patients who are in home isolation.
