AGARTALA, Aug 23 - Tripura, which has a tradition of excellent performance in the national flagship programme- MGNREGA since its inception, has scripted an overall good performance in successful implementation of the programme during the year- 2019-20.
The state has bagged first rank among the 11 hilly states category for implementation of MGNREGA in the most transparent way and secured second slot for work completion category. While Gomati district has bagged the second rank for effective implementation of the MGNREGA, Teliamura RD Block has secured second rank for the success in geo tagging.
Jamaria and Laljuri Gram Panchayat of North districts have secured best rank for successful implementation of world�s largest mandays generation programme during the year. Revealing the state�s good performance in the MGNREGA, Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath today said the number of job creation under the programme has been increasing with every passing year.
�The Central government has been releasing fund to the state because of its success in the flagship programme. �Works amounting to Rs 21.50 crore have been done that have created 10.49 lakh mandays during twenty days of August. There has been no shortage of MGNREGA works in the state�, he added.
