GUWAHATI, Oct 13 - Tripura gathered a commendable 228 for seven in the first innings against Services in the Group C Ranji Trophy match at the Assam Cricket Association�s Barsapara stadium here today.
On a slightly overcast morning, the Services captain asked Tripura to bat first. Tripura batsmen started with a cautious note and slowly but steadily tried to build their innings. Opener Bishal Ghosh, top scored with 49 and was in good touch but he missed his half century by a whisker.
Yashpal Singh (41) was the other notable contributor while the other batsmen too added few runs to the board.
Services spinner Muzzaffaruddin Khalid was the chief wicket taker with a four-wicket haul while medium pacer Diwesh Pathania removed two scalps.
