Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb who presided over the meeting in which the projects were cleared, stressed the need of proper planning on infrastructure building for the welfare of the people. Public utilities like healthcare, drinking water, electricity and connectivity should get priority while envisaging plans for building infrastructure.

Deb said the PWD must take care of the buildings established by it. He also exhorted the PWD officials to give a facelift to the bridges. The Chief Minister asked the authorities concerned to prepare a plan to increase the depth of River Howrah.

On his part, Tripura Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar stated that many projects were in an undone state when the new Government came to power.
