AGARTALA, Aug 14 - Tripura has fully geared up to celebrate the Independence Day amidst tight security, official sources said here on Friday.

The main programme would be held at Assam Rifles ground where Chief Minister Manik Sarkar would unfurl the national flag. A ceremonial parade would be organised at Assam Rifles ground where paramilitary forces and State police would join. Besides, a daredevil exercise would be displayed by Tripura State Rifles (TSR) jawans. A colourful cultural programme would also be held to mark the occasion.

Although there is no specific threat from outlawed groups, the security has been beefed up across the State to avert any intrusion bid from across the border.
