IMPHAL, Sept 10 � Derek O�Brien of All India Trinamool Congress Party (AITCP) said that his party leaders will be visiting Manipur every month to listen to the grievances of the people.
�We will be coming here every month not to speak but to listen to the party workers� ideas on issues of the State or matters relating to their constituencies, etc,� Quizmaster turned MP told reporters soon after his party�s meet here on Sunday.
AITCP has seven MLAs in Manipur who play the opposition�s role in the house of 60. �We want to be a constructive and meaningful opposition party,� the Trinamool MP added.
On Nagaland delegation�s proposal to formally approve its party unit in their hill State, he said the core committee will discuss the proposal. The delegation led by Dr Rilanthung Ogyuo has urged the visiting Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting CM Jatua led AITCP leaders to open a Trinamool unit in Nagaland. Trinamool is a key constituent of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government at the Centre.
