NEW DELHI, Aug 23 The All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) has held preliminary discussion with the Centre to break the logjam over the land boundary agreement with Bangladesh.

According to sources in the party, the team of MPs led by Sudip Bandyopadhyay held a meeting with External Affairs Minister Salman Khursid, who informed that the Chief Secretary of West Bengal had in 2011 informed the Centre that the State Government was in support of the LBA agreement.

Sources said the MPs argued that the decision on the Constitution Amendment Bill would have to be taken up at the political level and not at an official level. Another meeting is likely soon on the issue, said the AITC MP.
