Tridev wins GTC chess GP

GUWAHATI, June 14 � Tridev Buragohain bagged the title in the 6th GTC Chess Grand Prix championship.

Altogether 56 players participated in these day-long event which was played in two categories-Under 9 and Under 19.

Ranjan Choudhury, director, Pune FC and adviser of the Gauhati Town Club Football Academy, Siben Dutta, president, Akshayam and Deep Borah, former Ranji player were present as guests and gave away the prizes.

The tournament was conducted by Swaraj Buragohain as the chief arbiter and he was assisted by Padma Gogoi and Nandan Buragohain as deputy.

Prize winners: (U-19) Tridev Buragohain, Uddipta Kakati, Debanga Kalita, Abhilekh Mahanta, Abhilash Gautam, Neeraj Pratap Hazarika, Daiyaan Ahmed, Nitish Das, Maharnav Deka, Vishesh Bajaj. (Best girl) Jenifa Islam, Anoushka Priyam, Shruti Kothari. (Best U-11) Dhrupad Kashyap, Aryan Dutta, Vedant Chhawchharia. (Best U-13) Sahil Sethi, Gulang Talukdar, Henguljyoti Gayan. (U-9) Prangovinda Parasar Kashyap, Jayaditya Das, Shaurya Jalan. (Best girl) Reshal Agarwal, Ananya Deka, Archi Gupta. (U-7) Mrinmoy Rajkhowa, Priyangshu Goswami, Biwaswan Choudhury.
