Tributes paid to Veer Jadonang

GUWAHATI, Aug 31 - In order to pay tribute to the supreme sacrifice of Veer Haipao Jadonang, who fought the British valiantly and was subsequently sent to the gallows by the imperialists, the Jadonang Trust Committee organised his 87th martyrdom day at the Cultural Institute Hall, Haflong, Dima Hasao on Wednesday.

Debolal Garlosa, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council was the chief guest on the occasion, a press release said.

Paudaming Nriame, Ihuing Pame, both Executive Members of the autonomous council and Sandeep Kawiskar, assistant organising secretary, North East India Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, attended the function as guests of honour.

The speakers paid tributes to Jadonang and hailed his sacrificed for the country.

Every year, August 29 is observed as Martyr�s Day for paying tribute to Veer Jadonang.
