GUWAHATI, Dec 31 - Tributes were paid to Dipali Barthakur at a function held under the aegis of Sadou Asam Lekhika Samaroh Samiti, Kamrup Mahanagar, Dispur unit at the Kamalakanta Children�s Park, Rukmini Nagar on Saturday, said a press release today.
The meeting held with Dr Sulekha Chakravarty Bhattacharya, secretary of the Kamrup Mahanagar, Dispur Samiti in the chair, recalled the contributions of the legendary singer who had passed away recently. It also reminisced on the remarkable conjugal life of Dipali Barthakur and artist Neelpawan Baruah.
Dr Chakravarty Bhattacharya recalled her personal association with the singer. She also urged the State government to preserve �Basundhara�, the residence of the iconic singer. Several members of the Samiti sang a few evergreen numbers of Barthakur and also recited self-composed poems.
