Tributes paid to Bihagi Kabi

NALBARI, Nov 20 - Rich tributes were paid to Bihagi Kabi Raghunath Choudhary on his death anniversary in a function centrally organised by the Asam Sahitya Sabha in association with the Nalbari Zilla Sahitya Sabha and the Raghunath Choudhary sakha sahitya sabha at Laupara village in Nalbari district, the birthplace of the poet on November 17 and 18.

The two-day programme began with the hosting of the flag of the Asam Sahitya Sabha by Harmohal Kalita, president of the sakha sahitya sabha on November 17. The second day�s programme began with a poets� meet at 11 am where more than 50 poets read out self-composed poems. The tributes paying meet was presided over by Kanak Ch Sarma, vice-president of the Asam Sahitya Sabha. Addressing the meeting as guest, Dr Basanta Kumar Bhattacharya, former president of Nalbari Zilla Sahitya Sabha, Dr Lilavati Saikia Bora, noted literatteur discussed the life and contributions of Bihagi Kabi Raghunath Choudhary. The souvenir brought out on the occasion was released by Dr Parag Kumar Bhattacharya.
