NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Nov 6 � The Lakhimpur Cine Club paid tribute to music maestro Dr Bhupen Hazarika on his third death anniversary by screening Maniram Dewan, a classic Assamese movie in which the legendary artist had composed music and voiced songs.
A tribute-paying ceremony was also organised on that occasion on Wednesday evening at the Lakhimpur Commerce College, which was supported by the North Lakhimpur unit of AASU and the ICG Cell of the college.
Lakhimpur Cine Club�s secretary Farhana Ahmed gave an account of Dr Hazarika�s association with Assamese films. The principal of the college delivered the welcome address.
Earlier, the North Lakhimpur AASU unit organised a tribute-paying ceremony at the main road intersection of North Lakhimpur town in the morning, which was attended by school children and prominent citizens. Similar programmes were also organised by AJYCP, North Lakhimpur Music College, North Lakhimpur College and many others.
