TEZPUR, May 6 �The last rite of former AASU and AGP leader Kartik Hazarika who passed away on May 4 at Apollo Hospital, Chennai following prolonged ailment was performed here at Ketekibari public crematorium in presence of a huge gathering including AASU adviser Dr Samujjal Bhattacharya.
It is to be mentioned that the body of the veteran social leader with versatile quality reached Tezpur last night. Prior to the last rite, he was paid rich tribute by different organisations and officials at the Ban Theatre, Tezpur Sahitya Sabha, district administration, Tezpur unit of AASU, AGP, Tezpur Collegiate fraternity, Darrang College, Majgaon Sankar Mandir among others.
The Tezpur unit of AASU especially paid last honour to him at Swahid Bakori where cine actress Chetana Das, AASU adviser Dr Samujjal Bhattacharya, central executive Dul Dul Barkataki, president, Tezpur AASU, Nitul Bora, and district portfolio Abhijit Nath were present.
