GUWAHATI, April 27 - The RG Baruah and TG Baruah Memorial Annual Sports Meet of the Assam Tribune Sports Club got underway at the Tribune club premises today.
Meant for the Assam Tribune employees, the meet was formally inaugurated by Assam Tribune Employees Union secretary Jiten Kalita and general manager Banajit Bhattacharyya by playing a game of carrom.
Earlier in the opening ceremony, presided over by the club president Hiranya Kumar Barman, secretary Bhaskar Das explained about the championship.
Competitions will be conducted for RG Baruah carrom (both singles and doubles), TG Baruah chess and bridge. In today�s carom matches (singles) Bipul Das beat Pankaj Baishya. Madan Kalita and Dipak Mishra conducted the match and they were assisted by Lokajit Das.
