GUWAHATI, May 19 The All Assam Tribal Sangha today alleged largescale conversion of the school teachers' posts reserved for the scheduled tribes (STs) category to general category in the TET lists prepared for appointment in Lower Primary and Upper Primary Schools in the State.
In a memorandum to the Chief Secretary of the State, the Sangha alleged that the State Education Department is going to appoint 26,110 TET-qualified teachers in the Lower and Upper Primary Schools tomorrow without abiding by the provisions of The Assam SCs and STs (Reservation in Posts and Vacancies) Act, 1978.

It provided the district-wise list of the posts converted to general category ones.
Further, there is no relaxation given to the candidates belonging to the SCs and STs, candidates belonging to Koch-Rajbongshis, who are not enlisted as ST (Plains) in Assam have been selected against the ST (Plains) quota reserved posts.
