Tree plantation drive

BAIHATA CHARIALI, June 7 - On the eve of the World Environment Day, TOPCEM cement organised a tree plantation programme recently at a vacant site of Changsari railway station.

The programme was organised to create awareness among the masses about the benefit of the plantation. The programme was attended by Bhumidhar Das and Bipul Das, station superintendent and commercial superintendent of the station respectively. Addressing the gathering, Dr Anil Kapoor, president of sales and marketing of the cement company said that tree plantation is an annual activity of the company and he also appealed to the public and other corporates to organise such types of plantations to make the environment healthy. In the programme, a total of 300 saplings of different species, including fruit trees, were planted and a number of officials of TOPCEM cement and Indian Railway were also present.
