AGARTALA, April 30 The nationwide 24-hour long strike called by different transport unions against the proposed Road Transport and Safety Bill, 2015, today paralysed normal life in Tripura as most vehicles stayed off the roads.
Daily commuters, office goers and long distance passengers faced inconvenience as buses, rickshaws, auto-rickshaws and battery-operated rickshaws remained off the roads across the State, police said, adding, no untoward incident was reported from anywhere.
The strike was called jointly by twelve trade unions, including CITU, All India Trade Union Congress, Indian National Trade Union Congress and Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, to protest against the provisions of the proposed Bill. PTI
