GUWAHATI, June 21 - Transfer-posting of the 264 gaon panchayat secretaries of the five districts of Kamrup (Metro), Kamrup (Rural), Darrang, Morigaon and Nalbari was done through lottery system at the conference hall of the Commissioner of Panchayat and Rural Development, said an official press release here on Tuesday.
As a maiden step, this lottery process was held at the Conference Hall of the Panchayat and Rural Development (P&RD) Commissionerate, Assam, in presence of MGVK Bhanu, Additional Chief Secretary to the State Government P&RD. All the five chief executive officers of these districts, additional commissioner of P&RD, including the respective officials of the Commissionerate, were present in the process of lottery.
It is to be mentioned that the transfer-posting of the secretaries are made strictly as per new transfer policy of the Department issued through an office memorandum.
The transfer orders of the secretaries will be uploaded on the departmental website �rural.assam.gov.in�. The process of lottery for other gaon panchyat secretaries will also be carried out step by step in due course, said the press release.
