GUWAHATI, March 21 - A training programme: �Crop Cutting Experiment using smart phone under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana� was held at the Directorate of Agriculture here on Tuesday.

Parth Sharma and Gargi Upadhyay, officials from the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, participated as facilitators. They spoke about management of primary, district and state users, challenges faced by farmers and the process for resolving user management queries. They also explained the �CCE Agri App� to the participants.

The inaugural session was also attended by Mowsam Hazarika, Asst Director of Agriculture; Bitupan Saikia, Technical Officer (CIS) and Maitreyi Sarmah, Statistical Officer (CIS), of the Directorate of Agriculture.

Representatives from the Directorate of Economic and Statistics, Assam, and different crop insurance companies took part in the programme.
