GUWAHATI, Oct 10 - A 21-day free training on �Dress Designing for Women� conducted by the Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), Kamrup (M), concluded on October 6.
It was an intensive training imparted to 26 women of the district who desire to be an entrepreneur in the field of dress designing for women. The programme was inaugurated by Kamal Bhowmik, Regional Manager, Assam Gramin Vikash Bank, RO, Guwahati. On the day of valediction, Siddhartha Bhattacharya, MLA, Barnali Sharma, Development Commissioner, Kamrup Metropolitan District, Pranati Majumdar, ADC, Kamrup Metropolitan District and Kamal Bhowmik, along with other dignitaries were present at the function to boost the morale of the trainees.
Bhattacharya in his speech congratulated the women trainees for their courage to break out of the circle of the household errands and appreciated AGVB-RSETI, Kamrup (Metro) for taking bold steps for addressing the problem of unemployment.
Bhowmik urged the trainees to start business right away as with time, the trainees might have a tendency to get absorbed again in the day-to-day chores.
DC Nath, Director of the Institute, stated that 11 trainees were handed over loan sanction letters for self-employment. Rest of the trainees will be provided loan for their activities soon. He also informed that the institute is all geared up to impart training on different trades to at least 550 individuals within the current financial year. �A total of 1,896 unemployed youths from Chandrapur, Dimoria and Rani Block have already been given training since inception and their settlement rate is 67 per cent. These trainees will receive constant support and guidance from RSETI officials for the next two years,� he added.
