NALBARI, Jan 8 - A 13-day training on animal rearing is presently under way at Bihampur village in Nalbari district from December 30 under the micro entrepreneurship development programme of NABARD,

The training programme has been organised by Swaraj Welfare Society of Bongaon. In all, 30 interested women of the locality have been participating in the training programme.

The programme was formally inaugurated by Arup Kumar, Branch Manager of Assam Gramin Vikash Bank, Bongaon branch.

Dr Samar Talukdar, Block Veterinary Officer, Dr Manabendra Das, Assistant Veterinary Surgeon and Prasanta Sarma, a progressive farmer have been imparting training to the womenfolk on poultry, duckery, goatery and dairy farming.

After successful completion of the training programme, the women will be provided bank loans so as to enable them to start their own business enterprises. The training programme is scheduled to come to an end on January 11.
