DIPHU, Feb 26 - The Sarva Siksha Abhiyan Mission unit of Karbi Anglong conducted the first round of evaluator training to officials from various departments, including police officers of the district for �Gunotsav-2017 Assam�.
For the first time ever, the State Government has resolved to implement the first phase of Gunotsav-2017 programme from March 20 to 23 in eight districts, viz., Barpeta, Chirang, Dibrugarh, Hailakandi, Kamrup (Metro), Lakhimpur, Morigaon and west Karbi Anglong.
The District Mission Coordinator informed that in 741 elementary schools in west Karbi Anglong, 222 officers will be deputed as Evaluators and 85 External Evaluators from the adjacent districts like Nagaon and Morigaon.
Gunotsav is a convergence exercise involving the State Government, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) and Directorate of Elementary Education in order to focus on assessing the outcomes which help in identifying the learning gaps objectively and for providing necessary remedial measures.
It may be mentioned here that it will evaluate four areas like academic achievement of child, co-scholastic activities, availability, utilisation of school infrastructure and other facilities, besides community participation, etc.
