SIPAJHAR, Dec 1 � With the objective to train younger generations on Suknani, Ojapali and Deodhani dance forms of Darrang district, Drona Bhuyan of Satgharia village has undertaken a scheme to set up a training centre at Satgharia village, which will be opened in January.
A managing committee of the centre has already been formed with Dinabandhu Sarma as president, Jatindra Mohan Nath as vice-president, Drona Bhuyan as secretary and Jugal Nath and Hema Deka as assistant secretaries. MLA of Sipajhar LAC BK Saikia also assured his cooperation in this regard.
It may be noted here that Dhona Bhuyan has already earned reputation as one of the leading artistes of Suknani, Ojapali and Deodhani dances. He and his troupe has performed his art form in and outside the State in various events and offered training to nearby 300 students.
