Training camp on dairy farming concludes

GUWAHATI, Jan 26 - A dairy farming training conducted by the AGVB-RSETI, Kamrup (Metro) on the institute premises from January 18 concluded on Saturday.

It was an intensive training programme where the best of dairy farming know-how was imparted by professors from the College of Veterinary Science, Khanapara, Assam.

Apart from the technical know-how, trainees were also taught about financial management by the in-house faculties. During the period of training an exposure visit to the scientific dairy farm of the College of Veterinary Science, Khanapara was also undertaken and the trainees got an opportunity to interact with the professors.

The training programme, which was attended by 25 individuals from Kamrup (Metro) district, was inaugurated by Paramananda Das, State Director, RSETIs, NE States. The valedictory programme of the training was attended by Ramkrishna Sarma, Regional Manager, AGVB, Regional Office, Guwahati along with other dignitaries to boost the morale of the trainees.

Speaking on the occasion, Sarma encouraged the trainees to end their financial miseries with the help of such training programmes for self employment.

He also urged the trainees to seek all kind of guidance to improve their way of living. He also enlightened the trainees about the technicalities and marketing of dairy products, bank loans and importance of timely repayment of loans.

It needs to be mentioned that the institute is all geared up to impart training to at least 600 youths on different trades within the current financial year. A total of 414 unemployed youths from Chandra-pur, Dimoria and Rani blocks have already been given training and the process of their settlement is going on.
