Train with Election Commission�s poll message flagged off

GUWAHATI, April 3 - The Kamakhya-Gandhidham Express train, decorated with the message from the Election Commission of India (ECI) urging people to participate in the upcoming Lok Sabha Election, was flagged off by Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Assam Mukesh Sahu at the Kamakhya Railway Station today.

The train will carry the message of Systematic Voters� Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) throughout its journey till the completion of the poll.

Flagging off the train, Sahu spoke about the various initiatives undertaken at the State level to attract all sections of citizens to exercise their franchise.

He also stated that various SVEEP activities have been intensified in the low turnout urban areas to overcome the urban apathy. �Media, social media, tabloids, NGOs, radio partners, icons as well as SVEEP teams across the State are in the field to engage more voters,� he said.
