GUWAHATI, Dec 11 - An adult elephant was killed after it was a hit by a train on the outskirts of the city in the wee hours this morning. The incident took place at around 2:30 am at Balijan, between Panbari and Digaru stations. Forest officials said the place is an elephant movement area.
The male elephant, over ten years of age, was hit by the Up Anand Vihar-Agartala Weekly Passenger Special Train.
